Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data this website (kaikodasma.com) collects, why, and what rights you have. In short: this is a personal food blog. It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and comments are turned off.
1. Who is responsible
This website is run by Kai Kodasma, Tallinn, Estonia. For anything about your data, write to kkodasma@live.com.
2. When you visit the website
Like every website, the server automatically records technical data when a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page visited, and basic browser and device information (server logs). This is needed to deliver the site, keep it secure and find errors. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). The logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited time, according to its own rules.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set any cookies for visitors. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and your language choice is simply part of the page address (kaikodasma.com for Estonian, kaikodasma.com/en/ for English). The only exception is the private login page used by the site owner, which sets the technical cookies needed to log in.
Some recipe-card tools may remember simple choices (for example which ingredients you ticked) in your browser’s local storage on your own device. This stays on your device and never reaches me.
4. Fonts
The fonts are hosted on this website itself, so your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other third party to load them.
5. Instagram
This website may show photos from the Instagram account @kkodasma. The pictures are copied to this website’s own server, so viewing a page does not send your data to Instagram. If you click a link to Instagram you leave this site, and Instagram’s (Meta’s) own privacy policy applies there.
6. If you contact me
If you email me, I receive your email address and the content of your message and use them only to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). I keep messages as long as needed to reply and a reasonable time afterwards, then delete them.
7. Who receives your data
The website is hosted by an Estonian hosting provider (Veebimajutus), which processes server data on my behalf. I do not sell personal data and I do not pass it on for advertising.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- get access to the personal data held about you
- have it corrected or deleted
- restrict how it is used
- object to its use
- receive it in a portable format
To use these rights, write to kkodasma@live.com. You can also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon): aki.ee, info@aki.ee.
9. Changes
If this website changes in a way that affects your data (for example, if a newsletter is added), I will update this policy and the date above.
